Lemon Drop Martini

We decide to have our own cocktail party. Here is what the Mix Master (that's me) came up with. You will need to make a simple syrup in advance, because you will want to cool it down before using it. The directions for making an easy microwave simple syrup are included below.

Serves 2

2 fluid ounces simple syrup(recipe below in step 1)
6 fluid ounces fresh lemon juice
3 fluid ounces Absolute vodka
2 fluid ounces triple sec
ice
sugar for the rim of the glass
sliced lemons for garnish
  1. To make simple syrup combine 3 tablespoons sugar with 1/4 cup water and microwave until the mixture begins to bubble. Remove from the microwave and allow to cool.
  2. While you wait for the syrup to cool down, moisten the edge of your martini glass with a wedge of lemon and them dip the rim of the glass into the shallow dish filled with sugar.
  3. Once the syrup is cooled combine it with the lemon juice, vodka and triple sec in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover and shake until the shaker is frosty and cold.
  4. Using the cocktail set strainer pour your drink into a prepared glass.
  5. Enjoy and of course be sure to drink responsibly!

  2. We tried these last week. Pretty good! You don't need to nuke the simple syrup though - just stir until dissolved. We're trying White Cranberries tonight :) Merry (day after) Christmas!

p.s. A &B have already watched both of their movies and H has watched 1/4 of hers :)
