Baked Potato

You might be wondering if I have lost my mind. Why would anyone post a recipe for baking a potato on a blog? Why, indeed? Well, mainly because they way I bake them they come out really yummy and I think potato lovers might agree. For the record, you cannot lose something you never had.

4 baking potatoes
cooking spray
topping of your choice
  1. Move oven rack to the upper middle position. Preheat the oven to 400°.
  2. Scrub your potatoes until all the dirt is removed. Dry the potatoes and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Spray both side of your potato with cooking spray.
  4. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes. At the end of the 30 minutes, remove the potatoes from the oven and prick each one with a fork. Then flip the potatoes over and return them to the oven to bake for another 30 minutes.
  5. Allow to cool slightly before attempted to split and dress them.

  1. Oh I could really go for a baked potato right about now. I am SO hungry.

Anyway, I was wondering why you spray the potatoes with cooking spray? Never heard of doing that before...
