This recipe is very specifically inspired by a dressing/dipping sauce that was available at one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants, Shipfeifers. Shipfeifers was a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean style restaurant on Peachtree Street. It offered a simple yet exotic assortment of Middle Easter?Mediterranean fare. They had a very large assortment of vegetarian items. I have recently attempted to recreate some of our favorites. The item above is based on their Feta Cheese dressing/dipping sauce. Ordinarily I would include a link to the restaurant, but sadly Shipfeifers is no more. Which is too bad as it was a great place.
4 ounces crumbled feta cheese
1 cup Greek Yogurt
2 tablespoons plain low fat Kefir
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
1 clove of garlic, minced
- Combine the above ingredients and chill until ready to serve. Use a dressing or dipping sauce. Enjoy!
