Merlot Marinara Sauce

Sorry about the photo, not my best effort. Don't let it turn you off this yummy and simple pasta sauce. I made up this sauce as a way to use up some left over basic marinara and some left over dry pasta.

1/2 of my Basic Marinara Sauce recipe

1/3 cup of Merlot

2 tablespoon heavy cream

1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese

  1. Add the marinara sauce to a medium sized saucepan and heat over medium high heat until at a low boil. Add the merlot, cream and cheese. Continue to keep the sauce at a gentle boil and allow to cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes or until the sauce has reduced a bit.
  2. Serve over your choice of pasta.
