Broiled Broccoli

1 lb broccoli spears
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 minced garlic clove
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

  1. Move oven rack to the upper mild position. Set oven to broil. Line a cookie sheet with heavy duty aluminum foil.
  2. Lightly steam your broccoli, then toss it with the other ingredients. Spread the broccoli onto the cooking sheet and broil until caramelized.
