Basic Marinara Sauce

This is a very basic and easy recipe for a marinara sauce. This sauce can be used for pasta, pizza or as a base to many other sauces. This recipe will make enough for two pasta dinners or three pizzas. I usually end up with some leftover which I then freeze.

1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves of garlic
1 28-oz can of crushed tomatoes
  1. Heat the oil over medium heat in a medium sized saucepan. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Then add the tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and allow to simmer for about 15 minutes or until the sauce has reduced just a bit.
