Vegetarian Pigs in a Blanket

This is a childhood classic which can easily be adapted to a vegetarian or vegan diet.  Swap out regular hot dogs for vegetarian or vegan hot dogs.You will of course need to verify that the crescent roll dough you are using is vegan.  My kids love these pigs in a blanket and they have yet to notice that their dogs are tofu and not piggie.

1-8 roll container of crescent rolls
4 hot dogs, cut in half

  1. Preheat the oven to 375° and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the crescent roll dough into 8 triangles.  Cut each hot-dog  in half crosswise and place each hot-dog on the wide end of the crescent roll and roll it up.  Place the hot-dog rolls evenly on the parchment paper lined cookie sheet.  
  3. Bake the 'piggies' for 10 to 12 minutes or until the rolls are slightly browned.  
  4. Serve with mustard and ketchup.
