A Cointreau Pop

Not to give the impression that I am degenerate drunk, but I do love a nice cocktail (err stiff one) now and again. Further evidence of my non-degenerate drunkeness is the fact that we own exactly one bar glass (the one in the picture) which was left behind by the previous owners of our home. We have roughly 8 million wine glassed, but one lonely bar glass. Don't fret because we get by.

This past Thankgiving I need to purchase one for those tiny airplane bottles of Grand Marnier for a recipe and somehow managed to pick up a bottle of Cointreau instead. Because really they look kind of the same. I swear. Anyway, I finally got the right thing, but me being me I forgot to return the wrong item. So it had been in my cupboard unopened until a couple of weekends ago when I decide to pull it out and see what exactly it was. It turns out to a fancy triple sec so I served it up with some soda and voila we have a new cocktail.

ice
2 ounces cointreau
4 ounces lemon-lime soda
lime, lemon or air for garnish
  1. Using a smallish sized glass, pour the cointreau over ice, top with the soad and serve with garnish of choice.
  2. Enjoy!
