2 cups all purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup of butter, plus 1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
- Adjust oven rack to middle lower position and preheat oven to 450°.
- Whisk flour, baking powder and salt together. Then cut in the 1/3 cup of butter with a pastry cutter, a fork or your fingers until the mixture appears pebble like. Add the garlic powder, dried herd and cheese; mix until well combine. Carefully stir in the milk. Do not over mix the dough.
- Drop the biscuits only a cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- While the biscuits are baking melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. When the biscuits are down baking spread the melted butter over the top of the biscuits with a pastry brush.
- Enjoy!
